Ms. Sillins brings to FSB a diverse legal experience in the areas of trusts and estates and corporate law. Laura has extensive experience designing and implementing estate planning strategies for individuals and their closely held businesses that both minimize tax obligations and properly distribute assets when and how each client directs.  Her practice includes the preparation of wills, trusts, financial powers of attorney, healthcare powers of attorney and healthcare directives. She also prepares business formation and organization documents and buy-sell agreements among shareholders and members.  For her clients she also assists them with their employees and contractors by preparing employment and trade secret agreements as well as non-disclosure and non-compete covenants.

Laura draws on her extensive experience in the reorganization practice at Weil, Gotshal and Manges in New York, and as a former in-house counsel and senior executive officer with both a publicly-traded and private company.  In her practice she has advised her clients on both strategic matters as well as the day-to-day operational, management, governance, corporate compliance, and risk management issues.  She has extensive experience drafting contracts and legal documents of numerous types, and in negotiating, managing and closing diverse types of business transactions.

Ms. Sillins is admitted to practice in both Georgia and New York, and is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the National Association of Women Lawyers.  In her free time she has given back to the community by providing her expertise and assistance on the boards and/or executive committees of the Anti-Defamation League and Temple Emanu-El of Atlanta for many years.
